ANALYSIS OF COVARIANCE AND AN APPLICATION(M.Sc.Thesis)Hilal ŞAH NGAZ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYMarch 2006ABSTRACTThe Analysis of Covariance is a statistical method used for exploring whether there is adifference between the groups, in terms of dependent variables after removing theeffects of common variables. Within this study, information about the analysis ofcovariance is given and the analysis of single dependent- variable variance and co-variance and the analysis of multi dependent variable variance and co-variance isexamined. In application part, after the effects of sand (%), stone (%) and clay (%) isremoved from the soils of 5 districts of Konya, an analysis of multi dependent variableco-variance is made in order to explore if there is a difference between the 5 districts interms of the quantity of N (%), P (%), K (%), and Ca (%) among the leaves of sugarbeet grown in the area.
