Comparison of distance and formal education in terms of participation discipline, working discipline and examination success in individuals with in KPSS preparation courses: An investigation on the province of Teki̇rdağ

Due to the rapid growth of urbanization and the developments in information technology and computer science in the past quarter, some approaches in the education sector have come to the forefront. The concept of distance education, which is seen as an alternative to the formal education in which traditional teaching methods are used, has become more valuable in this period. Since it is difficult to provide physical conditions to meet the educational needs of the growing population, allows to eliminate the notion of time and place and suitable for for personalized education planning, distance education has become both complementary and alternative to formal education. In this study, it is aimed to compare the results of the questionnaire applied to the students in KPSS preparation courses in the province of Tekirdağ in terms of participation discipline, working discipline and exam achievements. In the SPSS program, according to the results obtained from the study with the t-test analysis, there is no significant difference between formal education and distance education in terms of participation discipline, working discipline and exam achievements, while there is a significant difference between the gender of the participants in terms of the success of the students in favor of the male participants. In other words, male participants are more successful in KPSS compared to female participants.
