Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY THE IMPACTS OF THE BANK CREDIT CARDS OVER THE BEHAVIORAL PATTERNS OF THE CONSUMERS (AT THE EXAMPLE OF THE OZDILEK SHOPPING CENTER OF KOCAELİ) Key Words: Bank credit cards, need, consumption, and consumption behavior In this dissertation, I intended to examine the impacts of the Bank Credit Cards over the behavioral patterns of the consumers. In this regard, the Ozdilek Shopping Center in Kocaeli was chosen as the base for the collection of data so as to pursue the investigation. Moreover, a number of interviews were carrying out with the Customer Representatives of various Banks. The data and the findings of the research demonstrated that the Credit Cards lead the customers to spend without control and any measure and the most of the owners of the Credit Cards, whatever their social status and classes, have a strong desire to keep the Cards in their pockets and use them. It is also observed that having the Cards for the holders a kind of tool to satisfy their urgent needs and the necessary payments so that they are a kind of major tool for solving the financial problems. Though such understanding and the use may be evaluated as irrational and meaningless, none can dismiss or ignore the financial and economic stituation which at least partly force the customers to have the Credit Cards.
