ABSTRACTDESCRIPTIVE VERBS in KYRGIZ TURKISHAli TANPh.D. Thesis, Turkish Language and Literature DepartmentSupervisor: Prof.Dr. Şükrü Halûk AKALINJanuary, 2005, XI+188 sayfaIn this study, it is argued about the descriptive verbs in Kyrgiz Turkish, whichhas an important place in Kipchak group. Our study starts with an introduction partthat contain the opinions of both native and foreigner Turkologists about descriptiveverbs which have an important place as if explains the meaning details of thelanguage.Investigation part which involves the examples gothered from the boks likeKıyamat, kök Asaba, Teniri Manas, kara Şumkar, Sıngan Kılıç and after theIntroduction part. In this part, it is studied about the meaning of 28 desciriptive verbs,their historical progresses their situations in dialects and other functions they ocquirewhen used with adverb moreover, the functions of desciriptive verbs in KyrgizTurkish is stated in this part.After investigation part, Evaluation and Conclusion part in which the resultsare shown in charts comes.Key Words: Descriptive Verbs, Compound Verbs, Kyrgiz Turkish, Functions ofDesciriptive Verbs.
