Factors affecting the intent to use crypto coins as investment tools: The case of Turkey

Statistics on the use of cryptocurrency technology vary between countries in proportion to the time it takes societies to accept a new phenomenon. The adoption of crypto money technology and the evaluation of crypto money derivatives as an investment tool by individual investors who have adopted different investment alternatives depend on various factors. In this study, a research has been carried out to examine the perspective of individual investors in Turkey towards crypto money technology and to determine the factors affecting the intention of using crypto money types as an investment tool. 618 participants responded to the questionnaire prepared according to the 5-point Likert scale, and the data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS program in the light of Technology Acceptance Model, Planned Behavior Theory and The Theory of Diffusion of Innovations. Factor analyzes, reliability tests and regression analyzes were carried out to determine to what extent trust, utilitarianism, subjective norms, ease of use, facilitating conditions, awareness and compliance factors affect the investment intention factor. It is among the results that the factors affecting the intention of seeing cryptocurrencies as an investment tool for individual investors in Turkey consist of trust, utilitarianism, ease of use and subjective norms. It is expected that this study, which is carried out in Turkey, will guide researchers, investors and policy makers interested in crypto money investment.
