Abstract (EN)
Thanks to the various advantages they provide, crypto assets have attracted great interest both in the world and in our country as a different financial asset class, especially since 2017. However, the risks inherent in these assets are important in terms of protecting consumers and market integrity, and the economic effects of buying and selling these assets without any regulation cannot be fully predicted. Our country and various world countries are aware of this situation and continue to conduct studies on this issue. In this study, the place of the crypto asset ecosystem and its actors in the financial system is revealed, the reason why crypto assets need to be regulated is discussed from different perspectives and information and evaluations summarizing crypto asset developments on a global scale are included. On the other hand, suggestions and assessments are made regarding the possible conditions of regulation, as crypto assets are used more as investment instruments in Türkiye.
