Merziye Halitova's pieces and composing method as the symbol of Crimean Tatar culture and history

This work includes the life of Merziye Halitova, reflections of the changing musical language in the world and on the Crimean peninsula over time on Halitova's music, Poetry-Memories, and an examination of the works of Saxophone, String Instruments and Percussion Concerto. To reveal the structure of these works through musical analysis, to determine the technical characteristics of the performance and to reveal a guiding work for artists who want to perform the work in this way are the objectives of the study. Merziye Halitova's individual style, the connection of her modern composer identity with artistic principles, the originality, subtlety and color of her lyrical expression have left a positive impact on her audience. The most important features of the original structure in her musical works are the synthesis of Western and Eastern cultures, the use of musical elements belonging to these cultures, the use of the characteristic rhythmic and melodic structure of Crimean Tatar Folk Music. All of this features can be ranked as the combination with modern musical techniques of 20-21. centuries. As a composer, it is seen that Merziye Halitova has wroten works of different types and scales. As a example of small-scale works she wrote nine string quartets between 1947 and 2006, vocal music and music for children, her large-scale works include numerous concertos for orchestra and solo instrument and 6 symphonies. Merziye Halitova's works mainly reflect the life, events and history of the Crimean Tatar People. As the reason for this orientation, the composer points to her inner world experiences and love for her country. The influence of this composition directly affects her works. The composer, who processes all the elements she had imbibed in her works, has shaped her own artistic style within this framework. The composer's Poem-Reminiscences and Concerto for Saxophone, String and Percussion Instruments are among the most important works reflecting her artistic identity. The work was written in 2013-2014. The first performance was performed by the Ukrainian Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Vladimir Sheyko in Kiev in the summer 2015. The fact that the different structure of the work includes modern musical techniques is an indication of the composer's musical identity, which is open to innovations. Halitova's second work in this project is Poem-Reminiscences, which was written for violin and piano in the winter of 1986. The intellectual theme and inspiration of the work written at the Ivanovo Composers' House in the Moscow region, which became a place where composers met frequently at that time and performed artistic productions through mutual interaction, is the extraordinary nature of that region. In addition to the form and playing analysis of both composer's works, was made a detailed examination of the playing techniques.
