Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, efforts are being made to use higher quality, economical and environmentally friendly products in the automotive industry. In particular, plastic decorative materials are used more than metals, thanks to their advantages such as being aesthetic, light and economical. Plastics can exhibit high strength, metallic reflection and decorative properties with metal coatings. Chrome plating is generally preferred in the production of decorative plastic parts in the automotive industry. In this study, chrome plating process was applied on injection molded ABS parts by electroplating method. The effect of injection molding process parameters on metal-polymer adhesion in the prepared parts was investigated. Before the samples are coated, stress test; After the coating, it was subjected to the Cross-Cut test and thermal cycling. So, it was examined microcrack density, plating thickness and after the thermal cycle, SEM images.
