Evaluation of the results of percutan epidural neuroplasty in the treatment of chronic lack pain

Abstract (EN)

Lumbar disc herniation and degenerative disc diseases are a common disease characterized by pain radiating to the extremities and fingers along the affected dermatome. This may have adverse effects on patients' quality of life. Percutaneous epidural neuroplasty is one of the treatment options applied in disc pathologies. Caudal epidural intervention with steroid + local anesthetic + hyaluronidase in 60 patients ASA I-III class, aged 18-80, who applied with the complaint of leg, back and low back pain lasting more than 3 months between October 2019-October 2022 at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Algology. Efficacy under control was followed up retrospectively, randomized. The severity of low back pain of the patients was determined by Visual Analog Scale (VAS), how low back or neck pain affects their daily lives and the change of these effects after the procedure, and the Oswestry Disability Scores (ODI) satisfaction score before the procedure, after the procedure 1 month, 3 months, 6 evaluated in months. It has been observed that percutaneous epidural neuroplasty has positive effects on pain, daily functions and quality of life in patients with chronic low back pain. In the treatment of chronic low back pain, wiggly epidural neuroploastia is an effective and safe treatment method.
