Abstract (EN)

This study was performed to evaluate posture, sleep, physical activity and quality of life in individuals with chronic constipation Cerebral Palsy (CP).The study included 81 individuals diagnosed with CP, 3-18 years of age and 2 groups with and without constipation according to Rome IV criteria. General motor impairment levels with "Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS)", motor functions with "Gross Motor Function Measurement (GMFM-88)", functional independence levels "Functional Independence Measurement (WeeFIM)", spasticity "Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS)'', posture characteristics "Spinal Aligment and Range of Motion Measurement (SAROMM)", with stool characteristics "Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS)" the presence and severity of constipation with the "Modified Constipation Assessment Scale (MCAS)'' and "Constipation Severity Scale (CSS)", sleep quality with "Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ)" physical activity level "Physical Activity Scale (PAQ)" and life quality was evaluated with "Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PEDsQL)". In the group with constipation, there was a significant difference in GMFCS, MCAS, CSS, SAROMM, MAS (p = 0.001), PSQ (p = 0.043) scales (p <0.001). In the nonconstipated group, scores were significantly higher in the scores of GMFM-88, PAQ, PEDsQL (p <0.001). In addition, there was moderately positive correlation between CSS and GMFCS; moderately negative correlation between CSS and GMFM-88, WeeFIM, PAQ, PEDsQL scales (p <0.001).It was planned to evaluate posture, sleep, physical activity and quality of life in individuals CP with chronic constipation. The study showed that individuals CP with chronic constipation had poor motor functions and functional independence, physical activity, postural characteristics, sleep and quality of life.
