Background: The shoulder joint is important for the functional capacity of the upper extremity. A large part of thefunctionality in this joint is formed by the rotator cuff musclesand rotator cuff injuries are the leading cause of pain and disability in the shoulder. Inthisstudy; it is aimed to assess the impact of kinesio-taping treatment in addition to routine physio therapy methods on upper extremity function, quality of life and emotional statein patient swith chronic rotator cuff syndrome. Materials and Methods: Our study was performed on 92 patients with rotator cuff syndrome. Patients were divided into two groups. The routine physiotherapy techniques were applied (TENS, US, hot pack) fivedays a week forthree weeks to the first group; kinesio-taping treatmen twice a week forthree weeks was applied in addition to routine physiotherapy techniques to the controlgroup. Each patient was assessed by he DASH scale, SF-36 scale and Beck Depression Inventory before and after treatment. Treatment efficacy was compared between both group sand in the same group as well. Results: In both groups, pre- and post-treatment DASH scale and VAS scale decreased statistically significantly. The SF-36 scale increased statistically significantly. No significant difference was found in the BECK depression inventory. Conclusion: Kinesiotaping has been found to be an effective treatment modality for improving the upper extremity function, increasing the quality of life of the patients and decreasing the pain.
