Abstract (EN)

INTRODUCTİON: Urticaria is a temporary vascular reaction that is characterized with erythematous , pruritic papules and plaques of various sizes. The aim of present study was to investigate the relationship between chronic urticaria and NLO. Also relationship between NLO and disease severity of urticaria were analyzed using UAS7. MATERIAL AND METHOD: One hundred patients who admitted to Sakarya University Education and Research Hospital Dermatology Clinic and can not be identified any etiologic agent with history, questioning survey, consultations and the results of blood tests were enrolled in this study. Fifty healthy subjects enrolled in control group who never had history of urticaria, no systemic disease, use of any drug and homogeneous with CSU group for gender and age. Levels of complete blood count and CRP values in the patient and the control group were recorded. UAS7 scores were calculated for patient group. All statistics were performed using SPSS version 15. RESULTS: Patients and control group have been compared in terms of NLO and patients were found statistically significantly higher than control groups. In patient group, Urticaria activity score(UAS7) compared with NLO and a significant relationship has not been established. Patients and control group were compared in terms of other hematological parameters and CRP resulting that RDW, PDW, MPV and CRP were found significantly higher in patient group. UAS7 was divided into two group by >3 and ≤3 than compared in terms of the hematological parameters including NLO and CRP, only the difference identified in the CRP and in >3 group CRP levels were found higher. CONCLUSIONS: In the present study NLO and other hematological parameters were compared in patients who has chronic urticaria with control group and relationship researched with UAS7 in patient group. There has not been any study in this topic in our knowledge and our study is the first in the literature. In our study we found NLO significiantly higher in chronic urticaria patients. In the future studies relationship between changes in the level of NLO and treatment response can be researched. Key Words: Urticaria, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio, full blood count parameters, urticaria activity score.
