Inspecting the relationship between the viral load in chronic hepatities cases and the observation of hepatic doppler ultrasound

The aim of our study was to compare the results of hepatic artery,hepaticvein,portal vein RDUS examinations in our study group with our control group and we aimed to evaluate the validity of RDUS in the diagnosis of chronic liver disease.Between 1 JUNE 2008 ? 1 JUNE 2009 , 60 patients with chronic liver disease both hepatitis B and C infection and 50 subjects without known liver disease as control group, attending Abant İzzet Baysal University Medical School Radiology Department were examined by B-Mod and Duplex ? Spectral Doppler Sonography using a CH 4-1 MHz transducer (Siemens ACUSON Antares Ultrasound Imaging System).According to the data obtained in our research, more hepatic artery RI and TAV counts are seen in inactive viral hepatitis cases than the control group. In chronic viral hepatities cases, RI, Tamn, flux volume counts and spleen size are larger than the control group.When performed in optimal conditions, RDUS chronic viral hepatit is a repeatable and non-invasive method. It may also be seen as a new method to monitor and identify inactive viral hepatitis and non-occult hepatitis cases, and for cases where biopsy is not an option.Key Words: Chronic viral hepatitis, Liver, Hepatitis B and C, Hepatic vein, Hepatic artery, Portal vein, Doppler Ultrasonography
