Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine how disabled women living in rural parts of Mus experience their own life in private and public area and the problems in participating in social life in terms of their sex. In the content of this research 13 disabled women were interviewed. The data of this qualitative research was gathered via in-dept interview with disabled women living in rural parts of Mus. When the information, obtained from the interviews, were analysed after coding, it was understood that disabled women were negatively influenced in participating the social life in terms of gender in rural areas. It is concluded from the study that disabled women are faced with the obstacles and problems, such as being dependant on private area due to being both woman and disabled and being alienated from the public area, which are based on gender roles.
