Abstract (EN)

Today, the vast majority of the energy needed is obtained from fossil and nuclear fuels. Negative environmental effects and limited quantities of fossil fuel have resulted the search for alternative energy sources. Protection of the environment, the prevention of future threats to human life and the environment and benefiting from national resources at the highest level to provide reliability of energy resources supply have necessitated the development and use of alternative energy sources. Countries, particularly European Union countries have given very great importance to the use of renewable energy sources and development new technologies in this area. The aim of this research is to improve the applicability of wind and solar energy generation techniques in rural area as clean energy sources which decreases cost of production and increases efficiency. In order to achieve that energy consumption of a rural house must be determined. Energy consumption values of electrical devices, which are used in rural house, are obtained from technical datasheets of different companies. Analyses in this thesis are made according to three different consumption scenarios.Single type solar and wind energy generation system is not applicable for regions that have different insolation and wind speed values. In conclusion, different combinations of wind and solar energy generation systems decided for different regions in Turkey.
