The effects of different sowing density on seed yield and yield components in some lentil varieties (Lens culinaris Medic.) in kirsehir ecological conditions

This study was aimed to conducted the effects of different three seeding rates (100, 200, 300 seed m-²) on different nine lentil varieties of yield and yield components (Kayı-91, Sultan-1-1, Bozok, Meyveci 2001, Gümrah, Ankara Yeşil, Karagül, Ceren, Yusufhan) in 2016 under Kırşehir ecological conditions. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, arranged as split-plot with with three replications. It was determined that as the increasing of the seeding rates, the number of plants per square meter, the height of the first pod, plants height, biological yield and grain yield were increased, but number of pods per plant, the weight of the seed in the plant, the number of pods per plant, the number of seeds per plant, the number of empty pods per plant, and 1000 grain weight were decreased. In the study, seed yield was varied between 157.4 and 204.9 kg da-1 depending on the seeding rates. To concluded that the increasing of the seeding rates increased seed yield and the highest seed yield (300 seed m-², 204.9 kg da-1) was obtained in the highest seeding rates. However, the lowest grain yield (157.4 kg da-1 ) was determined in the 100 seed m-² seeding rates. Moreover the highest grain yield was obtained in Karagül variety by 244.9 kg da-1 in 300 seed m-² seeding rates, while the lowest grain yield in Meyveci lentil cultivar in 100 seed m-² seeding rates with 138.4 kg da-1 was determined in Kırşehir ecological conditions.
