Abstract (EN)

Traditional objects have an important place in folk culture. Traditional objects are concrete examples of traditional teachings of folk knowledge. The traditional items used by a society in the historical process, in the past and recently, take place in the social memory and become a mirror of its culture. With folklore and all scientific studies, it is possible to recognize a whole society based on the tools that a person has used throughout his/her life, that is, starting from the essence of the person. In parallel with the rapidly developing technology and changing living conditions, the most important problem in this field today is the disappearance of traditional items as a result of not protecting them. There are individual collectors, public or private, who preserve and protect traditional items in their corpus integrity. In addition to the efforts of these collectors to pass on traditional items to future generations, it is possible to come across pieces that have been donated to museums today thanks to donors. At the same time, traditional objects, even if they physically disappear, can live on in the memory of people who have used or witnessed their use, or in old photographs. In the Mucur region, such an example was found in the collection of retired teacher Muzaffer Yıldırım, which he collected with his personal efforts. Many items specific to areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry and household items, which were produced and used in the region in the past and thus took their place in Mucur folk culture, are within the scope of the collection. The aim of this thesis is to identify the traditional items in the folk culture of Mucur district of Kırşehir province, which were found in Muzaffer Yıldırım's corpus, and to contribute to the protection of the tools in the traditional culture that are about to be lost. For the main purpose, it is aimed to compile the materials and construction techniques of these items, their local names, usage areas, known stories, if any, and to document the items with photographs. The traditional objects of use in Muzaffer Yıldırım's corpus were classified in eleven sections, listed and analyzed. Keywords: Folk Culture, Folklore, Traditional Goods, Mucur.
