Abstract (EN)
In this thesis the determination of the positions of the transmitters broadcasting in the short wave (High Frequency, HF) band is aimed as the main target. The azimuth angles belonging to signal transmitters have been calculated by using MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Classification) algorithm for a sample application.MUSIC algorithm is based on the principle of eigenvector and is found to be useful for HF band. But, unfortunately for coherent or highly correlated signals MUSIC algorithm doesn?t work. To solve this problem spatial smoothing is proposed in the literature. The proposed method is used for HF signals and it is shown that it is possible to obtain the angle of arrivals for coherent or highly correlated HF signals. In the simulations MATLAB programming environment is used. The performance of the system is found to be very well.
