Özet (EN)

Purpose: Today, because of increase on frequency of tournament execution, the time that usable for preparation phase of annual training plan decrease. Therefore, reasons appear to research training approaches those usable in short term like ten days. The aim of this study is to examine subacute effects of ten days training plan that prepared with Limit Stability Training approach (LST) on athletic performance. Methods: 19 adult karate athletes who has brown belt or upper belt degrees participated this study (Age: 19.3±1.6, Body Mass: 64.7±16.6 kg, Height: 164.6±9.7 cm). Athletes divided in two groups as LST group (n=10) and control group (n=9). Training program that prepared with LST approach including 18 training session be applied to LST group athletes in 10 days. Karate training program that used equivalent training load, session and frequency be applied to control group. Vertical jump, dynamic balance, punch acceleration, aerobic capacity and range of motion (ROM) measurements performed at familiarization, pre-test, post-test and 10 days after the completion of training camp for both groups. Results: According to data that received from analyses, although there were no decreases on any parameter of athletic performance, there were significant increase on Counter Movement Jump (CMJ), non-dominant extremity dynamic balance, aerobic capacity and ROM of dominant leg abduction and non-dominant leg flexion (p<0,05). Conclusion: The results show that, LST approach could effect positively athletic performance with short-term training loads. Key Words: Limit Stability Training, LST, Athletic Performance, Karate
