The application of spiritual intelligence to the education of literature under the light of new developments brought by quantum science

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate an important concept of recent days, the spiritual intelligence with a scientific approach and determine its position in the education of literature. In this respect, here, the concept of intelligence and different approaches in this area are studied and taking into account the functioning of the brain, three different concepts of intelligence, (rational, emotional and spiritual intelligence) are explained. Later, by working on the outcomes of the quantum science, a connection is established between spiritual intelligence, language and literature.The study group consists of 540 10th grade students in the high schools in provincial center of Ankara and 31 teachers attending their classes of Turkish Language and Literature. In order to measure the ability of students to use spiritual intelligence (to see the whole (picture), questions are based on different types of texts. At the same time, students in the sample group have been asked whether their teachers were conducting certain behavior and techniques. The data gathered has been evaluated by SPSS 11.5 (Statistic Package For Social Science).As a result of the study, it has been found out that there is a meaningful level of difference between answers of teachers to the questionnaires and the opinion of students about these features. This result can be interpreted as the teachers are using the mentioned techniques or they are thinking that they should be used, but, students think that they are inadequate.Although very limited, a text application has been made on a group of Italian students to have an idea about the subject. It has been found out that their ability to use spiritual intelligence is also at a low level.Key words: intelligence, spiritual intelligence, quantum physics, holistic logic, deep structure, literature education.
