Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, we aimed to preparing QCM gaseous sensors which is coated with amide functionalized calix[4]arene derivative and investigating their sensing properties towards some chlorinated volatile organic compound (CVOC) species (chloroform, dichloromethane, carbon tetrachloride, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,1-dichloroethylene, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene). Several amide functionalized calix[4]arene derivatives CPRA, CIMA, and CANA are synthesized to use QCM gaseous system. Characterization of synthesized derivatives were performed by 1H-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy. QCM gaseous sensors are prepared by soaking method of coating on QCM surface with synthesized calix[4]arene derivatives C4, CDES, CPRA, CIMA, CANA. Calix[4]arene derivatives coated QCM sensors was performed towards chlorinated volatile organic compounds in gaseous media. Calix[4]arene CIMA derivative showed that higher stoichiometric ratio for all chlorinated volatile organic compound because of their imidazolyl and amide group, especially ethylene dichloride (EDC) . Calix[4]arene CIMA derivative is performed to calculate parameter studies, Langmuir and Freundlich, Scatchard isotherms, which are towards different concentration value of 1,2-dichloroethane which has highest stoichiometric ratio to investigate adsorption properties, Repeatability and durability studies were performed toward EDC by calix[4]arene CIMA coated QCM sensor in gaseous media. The obtained results showed that amide functionalized calix[4]arene derivatives coated QCM gaseous sensors are effective to sensing of chlorinated volatile organic compounds.
