Effectiveness of graduated gui̇dance presented with smart board in small group instruction to teach digital play and observational learning skills to children with autism spectrum disorders

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of implementation of graduated guidance presented with smart board in small group instruction on teaching, maintenance and generalization of using digital play and observational learning skills to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Besides, social validity of the study was determined by receving opinions of families of participants related to results of the study and functionality of the skills chosen. In accordance with this purpose, playing digital play and observational learning skills were taught with graduated guidance presented with smart board in small group to four children with ASD whose age range is 4-6. Multiple probe design with probe phase across behaviors repeat with the participants which is one of the single subject research models was used in the study. The findings of the study show that all of the participants have acquired the digital play skills chosen for themselves, have maintained the performance during 1th, 3rd, 5th weeks after instruction sessions and generalized with different people, settings and materials. Social validity findings of the study show that participants, families of participants where the study took place was pleased with the results of the study.
