Abstract (EN)

İNGİLİZCE ABSTRAKT (en fazla 250 sözcük) : In much of the industrialized world, lung cancer represent the malignancy with the greatest of lethality. Our aim was to evaluate the diagnostic values of I c- 99m- 1 etr of o sain and Or a- 67- citrate with non- small cell lung carcinomas, This study was carried out on fifty patients (14 men, 1 women, mean age 61) with non- small cell lung carcinoma (12 squamous cell ca,2 adeno ea., lundiferentiated large cell ca.). Histo- patho logical diagnosis was achieved through bronkoseopic biopsy, percutaneous thorâeie needle biopsy, surgical, speci mens and sputum cytolo^r. Interior and posterior planar torax images were obtained 20.min., l.h., 2.h., 3.h. 4.h. and SPECT images were. obtained 20,min. and 4.h. after iv injectioi jof 740 MBq Tc-99m-tetrofosmin. Anterior and posterior planar torax images and SPECT images were obtained 24 Ja.,, 48. h. and 72,h. after iv infection of 370 MBq. Ga-67-eitrate. Circular SPECT imaging (360°) around the chest wasperformed. Data were acquired from 64 view of 25 sec using a 64x64 matrix. Trans* axial, sagittal and coronal SPECT slices confirmed the finding on the thorax spot image. Regions of interest were assigned to the tumour and the contralateral normal lung on planar torax images. Then tumour/contralateral normal lung uptake ratios were calculated. Mann Whitney-U and Student's t-test statistical method ware applied. p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. The sensit ivies of the planar study was #80 and #93 and SPECT study was #93 and #100 in detection of primary lung cancer withTc-99m-tetrofpsmin and Ga-67-citrate. Tumour/contralateral normal lung uptake ratios were calculated 1.49+0.342 and 2.07+1.24 with Te-99m-tetro- f osmin and Ga- 67- citrate respectively(p<0.05). Wot only comparison of tumour/contralateral normal lung uptake ratios af 20.min., l.h., 24i., 3.h. and 4.h. of Te-99m-tetrof osmin but also comparison of tumour/contralateral normal lung uptake ratios of 24. h.» 48.h.ahd 72. h. of Ga-67-citrate were found not significant (p>0.05). Additionally, Ga- 67- citrate uptake showgd at nontumoural hemoptizic area inone patient. We conclude that Ga- 67- citrate and Tc-99m-tetrQfosmin are «: very sensitive agents in the detection of non- small cell lung carcinomas*
