Abstract (EN)

Old Turkish houses are, Turkey's National Heritage, are being investigated and have a great interest around the world. Over the years, works that have been worn out by natural disasters have been tried to be protected by a number of restoration requirements. It is seen that most of the houses of Kula District of Manisa city, which are selected as samples of Old Turkish Houses, are stone buildings. Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out current and intensive restoration works to revive the old historical texture. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the Old Turkish Houses have evolved from the past to the present in the sample of Kula Houses and what are the applications that will shed light on today's practices. However, the physical, chemical and internal structure properties of the main stone material used in the buildings are experimentally revealed. Press-pressure test, ball drum wear test, magnesium sulfate frost test, ultrasonic test, X-Ray and SEM (scanning electron microscope) electron analysis were performed on stone materials.
