Abstract (EN)

In this research, the cultural, historical and geographical values of Kula, which is one of the easternmost districts of Manisa, whose historical background and when the first settlement was unknown, and Salihli, which was the capital of the Lydians for a while and one of the important centers where the history of the world changed, were examined. It is estimated that Kula was founded by the Luwians about 3500 years ago. Afterwards, it hosted Lydians, Eastern Roman Empire, Byzantines, Germiyanoğulları and Ottomans. Especially during the period when he was the capital of the Germiyanoğulları, the population of Kula increased rapidly and investments began to be made. Salihli BC. It hosted important settlements in the 1200s and became one of the shining stars of the region, especially during the Lydians and Romans. "Money", one of the most important inventions of that period, was guaranteed by the state for the first time during the Lydian period. Thus, the development of trade and wealth accelerated. Kula and Salihli, which were within the borders of different states before, each state left its mark, albeit a little, and has always hosted different cultures and different beliefs. Each state has left something from its own culture and created mixed cultures. These cultures have also had profound effects on people's lives. In this research; cultural heritage items of Kula and Salihli, mostly intangible and transmitted from generation to generation, have been compiled using various sources and the knowledge of the local people and gathered under certain headings. The aim of the research; was to gather and unite the studies carried out about the cultural heritage of Kula and Salihli under the umbrella of a geopark.
