Abstract (EN)
The military systems have been constantly improved untill now. Importance has been given to show to get lighter, cheaper and more effective military systems. Weapon tower systems which have been used commonly are also a part of military systems. Observed imbalance in the guns has increased in the driving line as the guns used in the turret systems can scan maximum angles in the vertical direction and are placed in the minimum volume. High imbalance adversely affected the driving line performance in terms of stabilization, target tracking, steering speed and acceleration. In order to eliminate its performance degradation to use servo motors and interfaces that have higher capacity required for driving come to the fore. Instead of this, a compensator (its preload may be changed) was designed to support the ascent axis driving line servo motor, which is a more efficient method. In this study, while reducing the unbalance moment in the elevation axis of the driving line, the balancer design that can meet the requirements of the tower system and provide the driving line performance requirements has been made and manufactured. By examining spring, pneumatic and hydropneumatic balancer types, the spring balancer which is a pull type has been selected. Criteria such as simplicity, reliability, maintenance time, cost, and fast production have come to the stage in the selection of the spring balancer. Firstly, the moment of unbalance of the unbalanced mass to be used in the prototype studies was calculated. Based on the calculated imbalance moment and the servo motor to be used, a spring design has been made to reduce that imbalance. The designed prototype of the spring has been manufactured and tested in the system where the imbalance occurs. With these tests, it was evaluated whether the balancer meets the criteria of its design or not. In the following tests, the design was improved by comparing the obtained real data with the theoretical calculations.
