Abstract (EN)
Ceramics have been an important material involved in all aspects of his life since the existence of mankind. Ceramics used in different ways as they were sometimes used as everyday use items, and sometimes as a means of artistic expression. Hand tools and Potter's lathe varieties uncovered during archaeological excavations shed light on the history of how this material was shaped. The first examples of Potter's lathes were made of clay, stone and wood. They were Hand-Rotated lathes with different sizes of tables. After that, the lathe samples were changed and turned by the foot. At the present time lathes are used that are rotated by the engine. Parallel to the technology, Potter lathe types have also evolved and changed. Based upon the first examples, the process of change that has come to the present day has been followed. In this direction, it is aimed to design a portable mini Potter lathe based on user-oriented and technology. As a result of the literature and preliminary research conducted within the scope of the research, it was found that manufacturers in Potter lathes on the market do not adequately consider the design parameters of the product. Design parameters were determined by conducting user-oriented interviews in order to respond to expectations that may meet user expectations. The creative process was supported with the help of user-oriented parameters. In this context, a user-oriented and technology-based mini Potter lathe has been produced that can meet user requirements, contain design parameters and contribute to improve production quality.
