Abstract (EN)
Societies, when determining the concept of clothing, are using the fashion that are seen in various media. Movie series are creating the clothing culture by bringing into view the products manufactured by various sponsoring brands or by other manufacturers disposals. Modern day communication tools are, as stated by Walter Lippman, Edward Herman who created the term "Manifacturing of Consent" and the author of the book titled "Manifacturing Consent" Noam Chomsky, shaped by the people who have these tools. Media tools are creating the consumption simulations by the social-psychological effects of fashion. Movie series are good examples of aforementioned consumption simulations. Consumption habits that are manufacturing brands trying to create are imposed using movie series with various media tools. Owners of various media tools are seeing the societies they address, as not only audience but as of a consumer and a commodity. In this study which is conducted on the context of culture industry, how communication between the audience of movie series and the brand owners effect societies is explained by "Manufacture of consent" and "consumerist society" concepts. This study, by using Simmel's concept of "fashion" and Veblen's "conspiciuous consumption" is demonstrating the audiences' affection process by movie series and their actors and actresses. In this study, by using literature research and observation technics 20 people are interviewed by using semi-structured interview surveys in total. As of the main subject of the study, cultural structures, consumption habits of interviewers shaped by movie series and the effects on societies are mentioned. In addition to that, it includes analyses about effects of fashion concepts that are changed due to brands, on the movie series that audiences choose and the admassed people's clothing culture.
