A survey on kültür haftasi and ağaç journals

"Kültür Haftası" (Week of Culture) and "Ağaç" (The Tree) periodicals published in 1936 were short-lived, however they had stepped into the world of art and culture in an ambitious manner and they were recognized and acclaimed by their contemporaries. This dissertation examines these two journals and is composed of three chapters.First chapter includes the formation process and features of the journals. In this part, physical properties and contents of the journals are determined, the beginnings and the ends of their publications, missions and principles of the journals and reflections in the world of literature are presented. At the end of this chapter, the lists of the poets and the writers of the journals are given.Second chapter is composed of two main parts: poems and proses. Poems are evaluated according to phonetics, language, structure, reality-meaning-interpretation-tradition features. Proses are evaluated under twelve titles that are determined by the classifications of the genres.Third chapter contains the indexes of the journals. First the indexes of each journal, secondly the indexes of the writers by their surnames and finally the indexes of the texts by their genres and subjects are given.After these chapters, the conclusion derived from the evaluations done in the chapters is presented in the "Conclusion" part.
