Özet (EN)

There are practices based on culturally and socially established expectations and behaviors of genders in all societies around the world. Violence against women and children, both psychological and physical, continues to increase, especially in today's society, including in the past. Violence and forms of abuse are often seen as the most common human rights violations that do not acknowledge the gender equality, safety, dignity, self-esteem and fundamental rights of women and children. In the thesis study, the basis of harmful traditions applied to women and children has been reached. The reason for this study is to harm women and children by interpreting cultures, norms, religions and values differently in the process from past times to the present. No matter how much the living environments change, there are taboos that cannot be broken across societies. Starting from the example, people have done many practices for the sake of their beliefs throughout their lives. However, while sacrificing someone, they forgot that they were once in their place and that they experienced the same abuse, and they carried harmful traditions to the present day. The main purpose of our study is to show that the most fundamental right of man, the right to life, is endangered under the name of tradition. Just as every tradition should not be applied, it is right to keep the law and laws ahead of people's beliefs when appropriate. Considering that life begins with birth, every kind of deliberate and illegal violence is a crime according to the European Convention on Human Rights, from infancy to adulthood. This section has been the intersection point of cultural (social) anthropology and forensic sciences. Thus, it is seen that he contributes not only to his field but also to many other sciences. Forensic sciences, on the other hand, covers all branches of science used for the manifestation of justice. All kinds of harmful practices mentioned in this study include all practices that are done intentionally for cultural or traditional reasons that have a negative impact on the health and human rights of the victims, without any therapeutic purpose.
