Importance and performance analiysis on the historical buildings refunctioned as cultural centers by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism

Lots of buildings all over the world and in our country, that haven?t completed their structural life, can not be able to cope with the changes on the social life and necessicites and become useless buildings. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the spatial transformation on the old buildings refunctioned as Cultural Centers, which constitutes an important part of our cultural inheritance and takes place at our public memory, with the examples Edirne Deveci Han, Muğla and Ordu Cultural Centers and analysing the importance and performance of the features in Edirne Deveci Han Cultural Center with the survey apllied on the users of the cultural center. To search this subject, refunctioning and the functions in a Culture Center were determined. The condition of the examples before and after refunctioning was examined and by comparing these conditions with the Type A1 Culture Center, which was applied at some cities by The Department of Cultural Centers, the functions that can be established in an existing shell were designated. Then, importance and permormance analysis was conducted in Edirne Deveci Han Cultural Center to identify users? priorities and evaluate what extent these were provided by the cultural centre. In the conclusion section, the comparison of these samples was evaluated, the hypotheses suggested at the beginning of the thesis were tested and finally proposals were put forward.
