The use of photographs and illustrations as compositional features in cultural posters

After inventing illustration and photography, these two branches of art have been in interaction with each other in historical process. The relation between illustration and photography dates back to Camera Obscura's period in which photography had not been invented yet. Photography that would be invented in the period would be using Camera Obscura as a main tool. Although both of them are regarded as different disciplines, both illustration and photography work to provide an effective and a proper way for visual communication. There are numerous differences only in their manufacturing types. Since they serve at same point, the relation between illustration and photograph has always been one within the other. Although they seem to be rivals they have been fed on each other. İllustration is an interpretation; it is an essential field of occupation by making the image more humorous and arty. Illustration performances also increase in value by providing a photo additional help as well as they are being realistically artistic. Also, printing techniques of photographs and graphical interpretations through computers in our day have started to be more effective than the photograph itself and illustration that used to try to look like a photograph has replaced with photograph turning into illustration. Illustration that tried to look like a photograph in the beginning has got in a circle with the photograph turning into illustration in today's world.
