Ethnographic field research in cultural anthropological context and application of an ethnographic film: Tree of Life film study

This study changes the ethnographic field research in a social / cultural anthropological context and examines the values and structure of the hazelnut culture that is found to be lost and aims to create an ethnographic film in the audiovisual sense of this culture. Type of ethnographic film in Turkey, includes a restricted area in the recording of the presentation of cultural items and documentary form. In this context, the ethnographic interpretations and lack of ethnographic interpretations and the fact that ethnographic film production is limited from the perspective of locals in the transfer of local cultures makes it important to carry out this study. Within the scope of this research, a sample and focus group for the purpose of working as a filmmaker and ethnographer, which is the most suitable field for the researcher, has been discussed. The local cultural values and cultural structure of the selected area and the focus group were examined with various ethnographic methods and the changing ethnographic values in the cultural structure of the study area were determined. In order to understand the essence of hazelnut culture, both the eye of the locals and the interpretation of the researcher were important in the context of this study. Thus, an ethnographic film called The Tree of Life, which reflects the ethnographic film which has a function like understanding and descriptive transfer or documentation in its main focus, was created. As a result, Geertz's emphasis on the culture of both the primary and indigenous patterns of culture, which was emphasized in his work and experienced by this film, is reflected in the meanings and interpretations of cultural values in the secondary or tertiary view of the researcher. As a result, changes in local cultural values that are being lost or has contributed to the scientific and artistic frame was interpreted and Turkey's cultural memory. At the same time, this study appears to be the future successor generation of various regional values specific to each different region of Turkey, codes, their identities to understand and interpret There are also benefits.
