Abstract (EN)
In this research, which is based on the theoretical premises of the Cultural Studies School, the coding and decoding-centered audience/reception method was preferred. Since the perception and interpretation process interacts with the text of the series, the data obtained by reception analysis method are included in the analysis as well as the information of the text. This research is about the situation comedy series called "Number Seven (Yedi Numara)", which was re-screened on TRT (Turkey Radio and Television) screens in the Nostalgia Zone in 2020. This TV series was chosen as a research topic with its strong content and audience capacity. Also, the television series in the comedy genre, which was broadcast between 2000-2003, is thought to have an attractive position despite the passing of years. In the research, Number Seven series narrative and audience opinions were examined. Thus, it is aimed to reveal the elements that arouse longing for the past in human relations, and to reveal the thoughts about the imagination of the present and the future. In addition, it should be especially noted that the text of the series contains ideal social relations that remain in the past in the eyes of the audience. In the modern lifestyle, where change and transformation also affect human relations, it is thought that the audience of "Number Seven" sees the past as a place to take shelter. In this respect, the series also exemplifies "ideal social relations and values" in the design of the future.
