Abstract (EN)

With the development of cities, the vibrations produced by the increase in mobility also increase. The rapid increase in urbanization has enabled the development of transportation systems. As a result, it has become more common for cultural heritage buildings in city centers to encounter vibration caused by transportation systems for access. In addition to negatively affecting human health, vibrations have the potential to cause damage to cultural heritage structures. The effect of vibrations on the structure; It is evaluated according to three main parameters: vibration source, transmission surface between the source and receiver, and the characteristics of the structure. In legal regulations, vibration evaluation is made by selecting the relevant indicator based on vibration intensity information based on these parameters. Ensuring the transfer of cultural values to future generations requires monitoring the effects of vibrations in these structures and preventing possible damage. In this regard, the aim of the thesis is to examine the effects of vibrations originating from transportation systems on cultural heritage structures through sample buildings. In accordance with this purpose; By compiling vibration evaluation parameters, the study aims to emphasize the necessity of vibration monitoring studies in case of damage to structures in practice and in terms of legal regulations and the importance of developing vibration prevention studies specifically for buildings. In the field study carried out within the scope of the thesis, Eskişehir province was selected and three sample buildings were determined; Vibration rate and environmental noise level were measured with field measurements, the results were compared and discussed, and evaluated in relation to damage criteria and vibration limit values according to legal regulations. According to the data obtained from the field study; In vibration measurements, it was observed that international limit values were not exceeded in all three structures, and that exceedances occurred on a structure-specific basis within the national framework. Evaluation of the parameters that determine the vibration effect based on area measurement for each structure; In the national legal regulation, it has been stated that vibration measurement indicators must be used by taking into consideration the distinction between user discomfort and comfort and damage impact assessment. This study was supported by TÜBİTAK within the scope of BİDEB 2210/A Domestic Master's Scholarship Program.
