The examination of sources in terms of cultural elements in teaching Turkish as a foreign langugae: Samples of Türkçeye Yolculuk B1-B2 and Altay Türkçe Öğreniyorum B1-B2

The interest in Turkish has increased at home and abroad as a result of the political and cultural developments in the recent years. This gave rise to the materials used in teaching Turkish to increase. The sets of teaching Turkish rank first among these materials. This research is to do with b1 and b2 course books of Türkçeye Yolculuk Turkish teaching sets by Kesit Publishing and B1/B2 Altay türkçe öğreniyorum by yds publishing. The books will be examined in terms of cultural transmission. While Turkish is taught as a foreign language, Turkish culture is also taught as well as the grammatical structures. The qualification and place of course books are very important within the scope of activities of teaching Turkish at home and abroad. Course books are also important in cultural transmission besides teaching language. The model of document scanning through qualitative research methods was used on the basis of the question "Are the books of Türkçeye Yolculuk and Altay Türkçe Öğreniyorum sufficient for cultural transmission?". It will identify the situations of Türkçeye Yolculuk ve Altay Türkçe Öğreniyorum in terms of cultural transmission and set forth how cultural transmission should be in the books of teaching Turkish in the light of the findings obtained from the research. Hereby this research will be a pathfinder to identify the situations of the books that was already published and the ones that will be published as to the points to consider during teaching Turkish. In the consequence of the research, the data obtained from the texts identifed in the books involved was digitized and commented. As a result, it was determined that the elements of Turkish culture were plenty in especially b1 levels of Türkçeye yolculuk. In contrary, the superfluity of foreign elements drew the attention in the books of altay Türkçe öğreniyorum. It was determined that both books should make arrangements in terms of cultural transmission.
