Relationship between cultural intelligence and intercultural communication apprehension: İn the contexts of Turkey and the UK

This research aims to deduce relationships between cultural intelligence and intercultural communication apprehension. Research data have been collected from the business professionals who are being postgraduate management students as well. Those professionals selected from both Turkey and the UK contexts. There are 239 samples in research. Relevant the research aims, relationships between cultural intelligence and intercultural communication apprehension have been shed lighted. It has founded that cultural intelligence and intercultural communication vary by the different contexts. Cultural intelligence and intercultural communication apprehension levels of individuals are also influenced by social and environmental factors. On the one hand, in terms of cultural intelligence, gaining experience, working with strangers and speaking different languages in work place are positively affect on the cultural intelligence levels. On the other hand, in terms of intercultural communication apprehension, working with strangers are positively affects on the intercultural communication apprehension levels; so, anxiety levels of individual reduce by means of interaction strangers in workplace.
