Abstract (EN)

One of the fundamental effects of globalization has manifested itself as the necessity for individuals from different cultures to work together. Consequently, concepts such as intercultural communication, harmony and effectiveness has gained importance. In this study, intercultural effectiveness, which has started to be recognized as an important competence in global companies, and cultural intelligence, which is thought to be related, was examined. In addition, psychological capital, which symbolizes the psychological well-being of individuals, was also investigated as a moderator variable. The questionnaire in this study was conducted on Turkish employees who are working in a multicultural environment for one of Turkey's leading airline. In the study, the Intercultural Effectiveness Scale (IES) developed by Portalla and Chen (2010) was used to measure intercultural effectiveness. The Cultural Intelligence Scale (CIS) developed by Ang et al. (2007) was used to measure cultural intelligence and finally The Psychological Capital Scale (PCQ-24) developed by Luthans et al. (2007) was used to measure psychological capital. The research consists of four chapters. The first section contains information about the purpose, scope and limita-tions of the research. The second part, the theoretical basis of the research is dis-cussed. The concepts of intercultural effectiveness, psychological capital and cultural intelligence, theoretical information about the subcomponents of these concepts and studies related to these concepts are included. In the third part, information about the conceptual model of the research, scales, measurement methods and statistical analysis methods are included. The last part of the research is about the findings resulting from the measurements made. According to the findings, there is a positive and significant relationship between the variables of the study; however, it is possible to conclude that psychological capital has a moderating role in the relationship be-tween cultural intelligence and intercultural effectiveness.
