Effects of using black cumin extracts during incubation and breeder age on hatching time on broilers

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of broiler breeder age and using black cumin extract in incubator on hatching time was investigated. For this purpose, a total of 1920 hatching eggs, 640 from each of the three Ross 308 broiler breeder flocks at different ages as young (27 weeks), middle-aged (36 weeks) and old (60 weeks), were used. During the incubation period, black cumin seed extract was applied to these eggs in three different doses (control; 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 ml/l) as a spray. At the end of the incubation period, aerlier 490 hours are early, between 490 and 500 hours are medium, and 504 hours and later hatches are considered as the last period. At the end of the study, the effects of breeder age and extract application on the hatch time separately and together (interaction) were compared. It has been determined that the hatches occur mostly in the midterm (71.01 %) and the least in the last period (7.47 %), the time of hatching is affected by the breeder age (p<0.05), and the proportion of old breeder flock chicks among the total hatched chicks is lower (21.74 %) than that of young and middle-aged breeders (37.12 ve 41.14 %, respectively). In contrast, when the extract was examined according to the application doses, it was seen that the hatching times were not affected by the extract application dose (p>0.05). In terms of interactions, it is seen that the differences between the groups are significant (p<0.05) in all interactions (breeder age x extract application, hatching time x breeder age, hatching time x application dose, breeder age x application dose x hatching time). Accordingly, in hatching eggs obtained from young and middle-aged breeder and applied 0.5 ml/l black cumin extract, the hatches numerically increase in the middle and recently hatching time, whereas in hatches were numerically decreased obtained from old breeds and 2.0 ml/l extract is applied. As a result, it is thought that studies on the subject should be continued and more comprehensive studies including post-incubation stages should be carried out.
