Abstract (EN)

Sand lily (Pancratium maritimum L.), the only Pancratium species that grows naturally in Turkey, is a perennial Mediterranean plant belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. Sand lily plants are bulbous, perennial plants and the continuity of their generation is endangered due to human activities. Pancratium maritimum L. species of rare species groups in Turkey plant is not considered endemic in the Red Data Book; EN (endangered) status. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of hormone application on germination success and seedling morphological characteristics of Pancratium maritimum L. seeds. For this purpose, the seeds of Pancratium maritimum L. were exposed to three different concentrations of the hormones IAA, IBA, GA3 and NAA (1000 ppm, 3000 ppm and 5000 ppm) for 3-5 seconds and a total of 13 treatments were performed with the control group. The seeds were then planted in the rooting medium created with sterile peat, kept under control for 30 days and germination conditions were examined and the characters determined on the seedlings were measured. As a result of the study, it was determined that hormone applications positively affect most of seedling characteristics.
