Abstract (EN)

This study was made for the purpose of determine flora of the Kumalar Mountain (Afyon) locating in the transition zone of Aegean and Central Anatolia. At the end of having examined 2204 plant specimens collected from the research area between 1996-2001, 388 genera, 850 species, 37 subspecies and 7 varieties belonging to 89 families were found. 110 are endemic to our country. 171 species are new records for B3 grid square. 138 (16,2%) of 850 species that constitutes the flora belong to the Irano- Turanian phytogeographic region, and 99 (11,6%) species belong to the Mediterranean and 72 (8,5%) species belong to the Euro-Siberian phytogeographic region. The remaning 541 (63,6%) species belong to a few phytogeographic region or widespread. Seven species belong to Pteridophyta whereas 843 species belong to Spermatophyta. Gymnospermae and Angiospermae have 8 and 835 species respectively. Dicotyledones and Monocotyledones have 700 and 135 species respectively in Angiospermae. The largest families according to their species number in the research area are as follows: Asteraceae (96), Poaceae (83), Fabaceae (74), Lamiaceae (62), Brassicaceae (47), Rosaceae (40), Caryophyllaceae (39)IV Scrophulariaceae (37), Apiaceae (34), and Boraginaceae (33). The largest genera are Astragalus (16), Silene (14), Salvia (13), Veronica (13), Ranunculus (11), Rum ex (10), Trifolium (9), Bromus (9), Euphorbia (9) Verbascum (8).
