Derivational affix in Kumuk Turkish

In this study, which is about derivational affixes in Kumuk Turkish, the derivational affixes used in the written language of Kumuk Turkish spoken by Kumuk Turks are divided into four groups as suffixes that make nouns from nouns, verbs from nouns, nouns from verbs and verbs from verbs, and are examined comparatively with historical dialects and contemporary Turkish dialects such as Kazakh and Kyrgyz Turkish. In the section of denominale nomine used in Kumuk Turkish, the examples and forms of the non productive suffixes in Kumuk Turkish were also evaluated. On the other hand, the suffixes that make transitive and intransitive verbs by affixing to the noun roots and stems have been reviewed in the part of the verb derivational affixes from the noun. Suffixes affixing to verb roots and stems and make nouns with different meanings are discussed in the noun derivational suffixes section. In the fourth part of our study, verb- derivational affixes (verb suffixes and other suffixes) were reviewed. While the affixes are being reviewed, their phonetic variants, origins and functions have been compared with other Turkish dialects. In this research, since it is aimed to examine the derivational affixes in the Kumuk Turkish written language comparatively with historical dialects and contemporary Turkish dialects such as Kazakh and Kyrgyz Turkish, the document analysis (text scanning) method, which is a qualitative research approach, was used. For the thesis study, printed materials and internet resources (including unpublished master's and doctoral theses) were used. In the examination of the affixes, their the morphophonetic forms, palatal harmony, labial harmony and consonant harmony in Kumuk Turkish were revealed, and the forms of the affixes in historical dialects, starting from Old Turkic, were revealed with their functions.
