Abstract (EN)

The Qur'an presents the prophets not only as messengers of divine revelation but also as human beings who experienced a variety of emotions. In this respect, prophets are portrayed not as abstract, ahistorical figures but as tangible and applicable role models for believers. In particular, those referred to in the Qur'an as Ülü'l-azm— Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad—stand out as the strongest representatives of the prophetic institution through their qualities of patience, determination, trust in God, wisdom, and leadership. This study aims to examine the psychological and emotional responses of these five prophets as depicted in the Qur'anic narratives. By analyzing their reactions to human conditions such as fear, sorrow, joy, compassion, and astonishment, the research seeks to highlight the moral resilience and unwavering commitment to divine mission that form the foundation of prophethood. The findings demonstrate that the human aspects of the ulu'l-azm prophets did not weaken their prophetic duties but, rather, reinforced them. The Qur'anic portrayal of prophets is not that of flawless or static beings, but of figures who, with their emotions, anxieties, and perseverance, provide guidance for humanity. In this regard, the example of the ulu'l-azm prophets constitutes not only a subject of historical evaluation but also a dynamic source of reference for the construction of contemporary Muslim religious and moral identity. Key Words: Qur'an, Prophethood, Prophets of Firm Resolve, Psychological Reactions, Emotional Reactions
