Abstract (EN)

Mountains are not merely physical formations on Earth; throughout history, humanity has imbued them with various meanings. This research explores the diverse functions attributed to mountains in the Qur'an, both inherent to their creation and those ascribed to them later. These locations serve as sources of minerals and water, refuges, pathways and at times, places of divine significance. As beings who must live in harmony with nature, humans are obligated to understand it and be aware of their responsibilities. The Qur'an, which guides humanity, also provides direction in this regard. Based on all these considerations, this study aims to evaluate the reasons for the existence of mountains from a Quranic perspective. Ultimately, this study explores both the natural significance and spiritual meaning of mountains, which are also a part of our cultural heritage, and highlights their messages to humanity.
