Abstract (EN)
In this study titled "Bey'ah in the Holy Qur'an", the words of by'a/بَيَعَ origin, which constitute the origin of the word bey'ah, are analysed by semantic method and the nature of bey'ah in the Holy Qur'an is determined by thematic exegesis method. The study consists of introduction, first and second chapters and conclusion. The introduction includes the subject, importance, aim, method and plan of the study. In the first chapter titled etymology and meaning of the word bey'ah, the etymological structure of the root by'a/بَيَعَ, which forms the origin of this word, is discussed in the first place. Then, the usage of the words of by'a/بَيَعَ origin in the poetry of Jāhiliyya and the poetry of the Islamic period is given, and then the meaning of the root is analysed by giving its equivalents in the early and late Arabic lugats, Arabic-Turkish lugats and Ottoman Turkish lugats respectively. In the second chapter on bey'ah, the usage of the words derived from the root by'a/بَيَعَ in the Qur'an is determined and shown in tables. Then, the verses in which this root occurs and the words derived from by'a/بَيَعَ in these verses are analysed, and the information compiled from commentaries and translations is evaluated in the light of the information obtained in the first part where the meaning of the root is analysed. Afterwards, the opinions reached on the subject are put forward. After determining the usage of the word biat and other words derived from the root of this word in the Qur'an, the meaning of the word is revealed by determining the close meaningful and distant meaningful words included in the meaning of the word bey'ah. Then, based on the verses in which bey'ah is included and the exegesis of these verses, the characteristics of those who swear bey'ah, the addressees of bey'ah, the issues on which bey'ah is sworn, the reward of those who swear bey'ah and the punishment of those who break the bey'ah are determined. In addition, the content of bey'ah in the Qur'an is determined by touching on the psychological, sociological and political aspects of bey'ah. The study concludes with the evaluation of the information obtained from the thesis in the conclusion.
