Abstract (EN)
The content of the Qur'an, which was revealed as a guide for people to act in accordance with the purpose for which they were created and to recognize Allah, the cause of their existence, includes verses that inform human beings of their duties and responsibilities towards their creator and other living beings around them. However, the Qur'an also contains some verses about the formation and functioning of the universe in which human beings live in order to prove that it is from Allah and to depict the dimensions of Allah's power and might to the interlocutors. The exegesis of these verses, which are also called cosmic/kawnī verses, by utilizing the data obtained by the positive sciences has led to the emergence of a method of exegesis called scientific exegesis. The emergence of scientific exegesis is parallel to scientific developments. When a discovery is made in the field of science, some scholars endeavor to prove that it exists in the Qur'an and that religion and science support each other. However, those who do not find it right to explain the verses with scientific discoveries believe that such an approach harms the spirit of the Qur'an. Therefore, there have been many debates about the possibility or limits of scientific exegesis. In the first part of our thesis, the relationship between religion and science will be discussed and the places where they diverge and reconcile will be mentioned, and in the second part, the history and examples of scientific exegesis will be given. In the third chapter, the contemporary scholarly studies on scientific exegesis in our country and the approaches of the authors of these studies to scientific exegesis will be evaluated, and in the concluding chapter, the place and value of scientific exegesis in the present will be discussed. Keywords: Qur'an, Exegesis, Religion, Science, Scientific Exegesis,
