After their prophets had left, they corrupted and distorted the holy books sent down to them. As a result, they were in a belief and attitude contrary to what was commanded to them. Jews and Christians have associated God with son as well as taking their scribes and monks as Lords besides God. Therefore, according to the Qur'an, they fell info polytheism. The holy books of the Jews and Christians, had the glad tidings of Prophet Muhammad's coming and a promise taken from them to believe and support Him. However, they broke their Covenant with Allah. They denied the last prophet, Muhammad. Jews and Christians, by making a distinction between prophets, believed in some of the prophets sent by Allah, while they denied some others. According to the Qur'an, they were disbelievers because of their attitudes. Many prophets were sent to the Jews, but they had abnormal wishes from the prophets. They also slandered some prophets, and unjustly slaughtered some others. Jews and Christians claimed that they were the only people who belong Abraham and they only would enter paradise.
