Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in 2016 in Atatürk University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture under laboratory and greenhouse conditions. Yalova 1 cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata) cultivar was used as plant material in the experiment. The study was carried out in order to determine the effects of salinity and drought stress on plant growth and some physiological and biochemical characteristics in cabbage seedling. Three irrigation levels (full irrigation (100%) (D0), 80% (D1) and 60% (D2) of field capacity were used for 3 salt application (0, 75 and 150 mM NaCl)) with 3 replications as pot experiments. In the study, cabbage seedlings were also grown under stress-free control conditions. At the end of the experiment period, differences between the treatment groups were recorded in the plants obtained from each group by the analysis of growth parameters, some physiological measurements and plant nutrients. According to research findings, there were significant differences between applications and doses. Some plant physiological and biochemical parameters (tissue electrical conductivity, stomatal conductance, leaf water potential, amino acid, antioxidants etc.) and plant nutrient content of cabbage seeding grown in saline and drought conditions (fresh, dry weight, etc.) has been determined as important. As a result; it was determined that salinity and drought conditions together had more negative effect than those of separated effects on cabbage seedlings.
