The importance of water as a global public good and the politicaleconomy of water resources in Turkey

One of the biggest problems threatening today's world is undoubtedly global warming and the problems it brings. These problems are wide-ranging, and one of the most well-known and important ones is the threat of clean water resources. The fact that water, whose importance is indisputable for the continuation of the vital activities of living things, is under threat due to global warming also reveals the necessity of overcoming the problem of global warming, which concerns the whole world. At this point, water is a global public good, and the solution to the problems of global warming and climate change that threatens the existence of water is only possible if the nations meet on a common ground. Considering the studies in the literature, it is desired to investigate the subject in order to draw attention to the importance of water, which is a global public good, and the seriousness of the existing problem, and finally to understand the situation in which the world, and in particular Turkey, will be affected by the phenomenon of water scarcity caused by global warming and climate change. . The research will be carried out in the light of the literature and current data will also be used. As a method, a literature review will be carried out, the importance of water as a global public good and the extent to which the problem of global warming threatens water resources will be understood with the studies in the literature and current data. Finally, with the research to be conducted on the political economy of water resources in Turkey, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of water and water resources more clearly.
