Evaluation of the environmental sustainability performances according to global reporting initiative criterias: European chemical sector example

The aim of this study is to examine the changes of environmental sustainability performances of the companies in chemicals sector in Europe year by year according to the Global Reporting Initiative criterias. For this purpose, 17 firms which have reported on global reporting initiative (GRI-G4) in 2017 in chemical sector in Europe are chosen as sample. Answers to environmental sustainability indicators in GRI-G4 reports are examined by content analysis. environmental sustainability indicators are weighed by using Entropy method and performances changes of firms in recent years are questioned by using TOPSIS, one of the multi criteria decision making methods.
